Over two inches of heavy rains that accompanied destructive winds in Marion County on Sunday morning also resulted in the flooding of local roadways. English Creek was well over a foot over its banks by Sunday morning and remains 2.5 feet over it’s banks this morning. White Breast was over two feet over its banks, but is now below flood stage. The Marion County Engineers office says numerous county gravel roads were flooded and closed. Tom Wadle with the secondary roads department urges caution, and says that if you encounter any damaged or flooded roadways that are not marked to please call the Sheriff’s office or the engineers office to report road conditions, so assessments may be made as well as repairs if necessary.
