A meet that many thought would come down to the final event, turned into a 73.5 point triumph by Knoxville in the Little Hawkeye Conference Boys Track and Field Championships last night. The Panthers took gold in 11 events including: Derek Seddon in the discus, Jalen Frost in the long jump, Tim Shepherd in the 3200, Alex Edwards in the 400, Jamie VanderVeer in the 1600 and 800 meter runs, and Colton Spaur in the 200.
Knoxville was also outstanding in relays as the Panthers were golden in the 4×200, 4×400 and 4×800-meter relays as well as the 1600 meter medley relay. Pella finished second as a team, led by two gold medal performances. The Little Dutch claimed first in the 100 meters with Chris Brogden and Dan Borgerding earned gold in the shot put.
