The State Track and Field Meet is in the books and for Marion County several pieces of hardware were brought home after yesterday’s day three of competition. Most notably was the Pella girl’s shuttle hurdle relay squad that placed second in a time of one minute seven-point-two/six seconds. Also making the medal stand was the Pella girls sprint medley team with a third place. Knoxville’s Jamie VanderVeer was fourth in the 800, while P-C-M’s Jake Potter was fifth in the class 2A 800. Other finishes of note were, the Pella Christian girls 4×100 relay team who placed fourth in class 2A and the Knoxville Boys four-by-400 team that took third place. As far as the team standings in class 3A Glenwood ran away in the boys title chase as Knoxville finished seventh with 36 points while Pella placed 21st with ten points. In class 2A, Fort Dodge St. Edmond won the team title with P-C-M placing 14th with 17 total points. On the girls side…Dubuque Walhert easily won the team title with 96 points. Pella finished in the top ten at sixth place with 37 points, while Knoxville was 41st. In class 2A, Pella Christian was 21st as Logan-Magnolia won the team title.
