Congressman Dave Loebsack, who currently represents the Second District of Iowa, was in Knoxville yesterday for lunch with Mayor Don Zoutte and other possible future constituents. He also took a tour of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum led by curator Tom Schmeh. Redistricting as a result of the 2010 census has resulted in a move for the Congressman from Mt. Vernon to Iowa City so he won’t have to face fellow Democrat Bruce Braley of Waterloo in a primary next election. Instead, he now plans to run for the newly created Second Congressional District, which includes Marion County.
