Melcher Dallas schools have been recognized for the quality of their school lunches. They received Bronze awards for meeting the standards of the Healthier US School’s Challenge. Angie Mitchell, School nurse, says the award is in recognition of meeting nutrition criteria in school meals, such as sufficient fresh fruits, dark orange/green vegetables, whole grains, providing nutritional education, as well as meeting physical education standards.
