Pella Boys Soccer 2nd at Tulip Tournament

The inaugural Tulip Tournament went off without a hitch on Saturday, as boys soccer squads from six high schools took advantage of sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s at the Pella Soccer Complex.  The Little Dutch took third place at their home tournament, defeating Indianola 2-0 before falling 2-1 to Albia – who finished in second place.  Grinnell took first place, with squads from Ottumwa, and Centerville rounding out those in attendance.  The Pella boys soccer team is now 7-3 overall and will take a 2-1 record in the Little Hawkeye Conference to Oskaloosa on Monday.

Grinnell defeated Ottumwa 3-1
Albia defeated Indianola 1-0
Centerville defeated Ottumwa 3-1
Albia defeated Pella 2-1
Grinnell defeated Centerville 5-0

In the 3rd place consolation game Pella defeated Centerville 12-0
In the Championship game Grinnell defeated Albia 2-0
