Playing against their second Marion County rival in as many nights, the Pella boys soccer team continued their hot streak with a 9-0 victory over cross-town foe Pella Christian. Back on field turf at the Pella Christian Athletic Complex, the Little Dutch overcame a relatively slow start to put themselves up 3-0 at halftime.
Pella Christian tried to answer in the second half, but the Pella offense continued to ratchet up the intensity – adding six more goals to shut the door. The Little Dutch offense was led by three goals from Brennan Mejia, while Spencer Boeyink drilled home a pair of scores as well to help the Pella boys clinch a share of their second straight Little Hawkeye Conference soccer title with a 5-1 record.
The Little Dutch are now 11-3 overall and will play at Carlisle on Monday. The loss drops the Pella Christian boys to 5-9 on the season.
