Fresh off of a win over Newton on Monday, the Pella boys tennis team came up victorious again on Tuesday as they defeated cross-town rival Pella Christian 7-4. For the Eagles, the meet was another step forward during a tough, three-day stretch of conference opponents that began Monday with Norwalk.
Pella and Pella Christian split the points in singles, with the Eagles winning at numbers 1, 2 and 6, and the Little Dutch taking the third through fifth seeds. The Little Dutch took the upper hand in doubles play, though, as Pella Christian’s only victory came in the form of a three-set grinder at No. 3.
The Eagles will take part in their third meet in as many days when they travel to Oskaloosa this afternoon. Pella is back on their home court on Thursday to face Knoxville.
