A change has been proposed to parent teacher conference scheduling at Pella High School. Under the proposal, the first round of conferences each semester would continue, and the second would be replaced by a few extra hours of professional development time for teachers. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer says turnout for the second half conferences is typically much lower than the other session, as much of the information parents are interested in is available online. He says this could be a better use of educator’s time. The Board has not yet many any decisions on the issue.
