The Central College softball and baseball teams are both preparing to start important tournaments today to try and extend their seasons.
The Dutch softball team opens the NCAA Division III playoffs in Pella as the No. 2 seed in their region and will face Benedictine. Central’s baseball team, meanwhile, will try and earn the Iowa Conference’s automatic bid in the national tournament as the the sixth-seeded Dutch take on No. 3 Wartburg in Cedar Rapids for the league tournament.
The Central College softball game against Benedictine will be broadcast live on kniakrls.com, with Trevor Castle providing the call. Starting pitch is tentatively scheduled for 4:00 p.m. this afternoon at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex in Pella.
