High winds over 60mph blew over a Hy Vee semi near Whitebreast north of Knoxville on Highway 14, according to authorities and the National Weather Service. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies, Knoxville Rescue, the Knoxville Rural Fire Department, and the Iowa State Patrol responded. The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Oxenreider, 30, of Chariton wasn’t injured, and he reported that high winds caught the truck and he lost control of it. The accident occurred at approximately 8:30am, and Highway 14 was closed until approximately 10:30am. KNIA/KRLS let our listeners know of the road closure, and when it re-opened. High winds also resulted in limbs being blown onto roadways in Knoxville and other parts of the county.
