With the varsity squad coming off of a challenging, 18-hole tournament at Colfax-Mingo last Friday and a full slate of golf this week, Pella Christian Boys Golf Coach Dan Branderhorst chose to rest many of his varsity players yesterday in a meet at Grinnell.
Comprised mostly of Junior Varsity players, the Eagles finished in sixth place out of six teams, totaling a combined score of 369. Oskaloosa was 20 strokes better than second-place Des Moines Christian; winning the meet with a 312.
Curtis Rozenboom led the Pella Christian boys with a round of 81, but no other player carded lower than a 95 on the par-71 course. The Eagles are back on the course again today for the North Mahaska Invitational in New Sharon, then they compete at the Sectional Tournament on Wednesday.
