The Marion County Board of Supervisors have approved an application requesting funds from the Iowa Department of Transportation. These funds would be used to make safety improvements at the T-15 and G-46 intersection, known locally as Metcalf Corner. County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum says that the improvements will help increase visibility at the intersection, which he hopes will help cut down on accidents. About four thousand cars travel through the intersection every day. The application now goes to the Iowa Department of Transportation for approval. The project’s approximate cost will be $400,000. If approved, work will begin on the intersection next summer.
