Tom Bouwkamp was perfect at the plate and earned the save on the pitcher’s mound in a 3-2 win for the Pella Christian baseball team at Grinnell Monday night.

Bouwkamp was 3-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base to lead the Pella Christian offense.  Will Vande Voort was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI as well.

That offense came in support of Pella Christian starting pitcher Zach Zylstra, who earned the win in 5 2/3 innings of work, allowing eight hits and one walk to Grinnell, while striking out two.  Bouwkamp struck out three in the final 1 1/3 innings to seal the victory.

The Eagles are sitting well in the Little Hawkeye Conference standings, as they improve to 9-3 entering a non-conference game Tuesday against Pella High.
