The City of Knoxville received a gift from a former City Manager at the City Council Meeting last Monday night. Joe Salitros, who was city manager for two years in the mid-80s, gave $400 to the city for the Streetscape project. Mayer Don Zoutte says that the gift means a lot to the city. Salitros returned to Knoxville yesterday to visit for the first time since he left the city 25 years ago. Knoxville is one of six cities he managed in – he said he’s giving back to all of them because they all give him wonderful memories.
