[simage=5592,400,y,center] Severe weather hit Marion County last night, carrying with them heavy rains and reports of quarter sized hail in the northern part of the county. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team went into action for severe thunderstorm warnings at 10:15 and 10:50. A flash flood warning is in effect until 8:30 am. Area creeks and streams have risen rapidly over the past 24 hours. English Creek is now over four feet over its banks, Cedar Creek is 1 foot over its flood stage, and Whitebreast is now 1 1/2 feet over its flood stage. South Skunk approaching flood stage.
Wind gusts in last night’s storm reached up to 60 miles per hour in some parts. We have received 5.46 inches of rain in the past 24 hours; 3.51 inches have been recorded since midnight, and 6.21 inches of rain recorded since system started moving though yesterday.
