Humid June weather kept the bats hot for the Pella Christian softball team on Tuesday night, as the Lady Eagles slugged their way to a 9-3 win over South Tama.
Morgan Blom scored twice and drew a walk in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate and Ashley Van Kooten scored another pair of runs while tallying a double in going 2-for-4 at the dish. Pella Christian also got an offensive boost from Shelby Weaver, who took advantage of South Tama miscues to score three runs, despite only notching one hit.
In the circle, pitcher Paige Blom was steady for the Lady Eagles, striking out eight Tiger batters and walking four, while allowing three runs on four hits for the complete-game win.
The Pella Christian softball team puts its 6-3 record on the line at home Tuesday night with a non-conference contest against Colfax-Mingo.
