Putting an error-filled first game loss behind them, the Pella baseball team rebounded in the nightcap of a varsity doubleheader to split with Centerville 16-1, 10-9.
Pella’s lone run in the first game was scored by Schyler Kane, who was 1-for-2 at the plate; while Ryan Lanke was 2-for-2.  Game two came all the way down to the wire for the Little Dutch, as the Big Red had the tying run on third base at the game’s final out.  Payne Pleima picked up the won on the pitcher’s mound, with Brett Kingery recording the save.
On offense, Pella’s Chris Bandstra was 3-for-4 in the batter’s box with 3 RBI and a run scored.  Paul Anderson batted in two more runs and scored twice while going 2-for-2 at the dish.  With the split, the Pella baseball team is now 4-6 overall and at home tonight to host South Tama.
