The recent rainfall has swamped Marion County, and many rural roads remain closed as a result. Though Highway 92 is now open, The Marion County Engineer’s Office has closed at least 34 roads as a result of the heavy rains. As of five this morning, English Creek and Cedar Creek were both almost two feet over their banks. The South Skunk River was almost half a foot above flood stage. The Lake Red Rock Reservoir was almost 772 feet. It is expected to peak at almost 773.5 feet on Sunday. The 9.19 inches of rain Knoxville has received in the first 15 days of the month is already 5 inches above the average for the whole month of June.
