The Lady Dutch softball team will look to keep a bit of a hot streak going this evening when they host Newton tonight in Little Hawkeye Conference play. Pella is coming off of a 7-0 drubbing of Norwalk on Wednesday night, and Head Coach Krista DeMeulenaere says the effort put forth by the team’s veteran leaders has been a vital aspect in the team’s start to the season.
“We have six seniors returning from last year, and they really have set a tone of intensity and dedication and discipline coming into practices,” says DeMeulenaere. “What they bring to the table is beyond their athletic ability – there’s some great leadership there in those six seniors – and they’ve shown it on the field.”
The Pella softball team is 3-2 overall entering tonight’s home contest with Newton.
