Pleasantville’s Chelsea Thomas’ record setting season for the University of Missouri Softball squad has ended. The Tigers lost to fellow Big 12 Conference foe Baylor in a marathon 13 inning game 1-0 Saturday that actually ended Sunday morning as Thomas set an all-time Women’s College World Series record by striking out 19 batters in a single game. Thomas finishes her season as one of the top college pitchers in the nation. She finished with a 32-8 which tied for the most victories in school history, a school record 397 strikeouts this season, and had a .95 E-R-A which was the lowest in the nation. Missouri finishes with a 53-10 record and won a World Series game for the first time in 20 years. Thomas will be a redshirt junior next season.
