State Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven is expected to make an announcement next week about his future political plans. When contacted by KNIA/KRLS, Van Engelenhoven would neither confirm nor deny that this would be his last session in the Iowa House. The Republican from Pella was first elected to the House in 1998. Any future campaign in the newly formed congressional district would likely see a primary race between Van Engelenhoven and fellow Republican Guy Vanderlinden from Oskaloosa.
