Eight area student-athletes were among the Midwest Collegiate Conference 2010/2011 academic all-conference this school year. From Knoxville Jared Turner on the men’s bowling squad and Ashley Kingery who attend William Penn and played softball…and Beth Ripperger who attended Mount Mercy. She was recognized in two sports, volleyball and track and field. From Pella Makenzie Van Zante who attends William Penn and is on the women’s bowling squad, and Zach Vos who attends Grand View and runs track and field. Also making the all-conference team was Emily Gilbert from Prairie City with the softball squad, Kayla Lagergren from Monroe with the women’s soccer squad, and Jessica George from Pleasantville, who also is on the softball squad. All three attend Grand View.
