The girls and boys golf programs at Pella High School will have a new, yet familiar look next season, as each squad will be led by a new head coach in 2012.

Long-time boys golf coach and teacher Gifford Graham has retired, and former girls golf coach Bob Fessler will be taking charge of the boys’ program. The move of Fessler from his previous role will allow fellow teacher and coach Wade Van Vark to pilot the Lady Dutch golf team.

Coach Fessler says he is excited about his new role and is looking forward to working alongside Van Vark to continue the success of the golf programs at Pella High School.

Most recently, both the boys and girls teams had an individual qualifier in the 2011 Class 3A State Golf Tournaments, highlighted by a runner-up finish by Lucas Boyd on the boys’ side.
