Beginning this week the Department of Transportation will begin replacing the guard rail on the mile long bridge, resulting in a single lane of travel with pilot car 7am to 7pm between Highways G40 and G28.

The length of project will be about two to four weeks.

Scott Sommers with the DOT says that they’re fabricating the guard rail off site, so until they’ve been at it for a few days, its hard to set a timeline because they don’t know how much they can get finished in one day.
