The Iowa Department on Aging is looking for centenarians, or people who are at least 100 years old. Each year, these people receive an invitation to an Awards Luncheon at the Annual Governor’s Conference on Aging and a certificate signed by the Governor. Dawn Allspach, the Senior Services Program Manager at Marion County Public Health, says it would be nice to have as many centenarians from Marion County recognized as possible. If you or someone you know fit the bill, she says to give Marion County Public Health a call at 641-828-2238, and they’ll take care of sending your information on from there.
