The Knoxville Little League nine-and-ten year old All-Stars have had a great start to the summer. The girls have qualified for the state tournament after going four-and-oh in district play last week. They beat Mahaska Midwest 8-3, Grinnell 13-4, Mahaska Nationals 7-1 and Mahaska American 15-3. Assistant Coach Doug Sander says the girls have done a good job of coming together in a short period of time. The girls will travel to Huxley tomorrow for the state tournament. A win at state would qualify them for the Regional Tournament in Indianapolis where the winner gets a trip to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. If you would like to donate to the team and their travel expenses call Knoxville Little League Representative Craig Mobley.
