Last year’s champion is the leader through the first 18 holes of the Pella City Golf Tournament.  Mike Patzia carded a 71 in Saturday’s opening round at the Pella Golf and Country Club.  

Close behind the leader are Lucas Boyd, Bob Fessler and Brian Simpson, who all shot a 73, putting themselves in a good spot to contend for the title in the Championship Division.  

In the Senior Division, Bryce Dahm’s round of 79 was the low score, one stroke better than Dennis Morgan, and two shots better than last year’s champion – Scott Van Tasell – who finished Saturday’s opening round with an 81.  

The second and final round of the Pella City Golf Tournament now shifts to the Bos Landen Golf Club, with the tournament to resume at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
