Senior right-hander Tom Bouwkamp was dominant Saturday night in a four-hit effort to give the Pella Christian baseball squad a 4-1 victory over Pleasantville in the opening round of the Class 2A District Baseball Tournament.  Bouwkamp, who improved to 9-1 on the year, kept his pitch count down most of the game while getting Trojan hitters to pop up early in counts.  His counterpart Collin Thomas was equally impressive, giving up just three earned runs en route to his fifth loss of the season.

The Eagles scored in the first inning on an error, again on three consecutive hits in the fourth by Kyle De Ronde, Jordan Rossler and Marcus Van Zee, and once more on an RBI double by Curtis Rozenboom in the fifth frame.  For the Trojans, Wes Prill put up three hits and Collin Thomas drove in the lone run on an RBI double in the sixth inning.

The Eagles will play Albia on Tuesday, as the Demons claimed an 8-2 victory over PCM earlier in the night.  First pitch will be at 7:00 pm at Pella Christian High School.
