Knoxville and P-C-M went extra innings last night in the final home game for the Panthers this season. P-C-M plated two runs in the top of the eighth and Knoxville had the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth but a pop fly in the infield ended the game and the Mustangs won 3-1. Knoxville jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Kylee Bishop singled in Katie Ayers in the first inning. However the Mustangs would respond with a run in the third when Kaitlyn Wilke came home on an error. It stayed tied until the eighth when Jennifer Templeman reached on an error and brought home two runs to make it 3-1. P-C-M Coach Steph Langstratt was happy with nearly all aspects of her team’s game. Meanwhile Knoxville’s Steph Christner while disappointed with the loss said the team played very well, just a couple of small things that did not go their way proved huge. McKenzie Welch earned the win going the distance in allowing just one run on six hits no walks and two strikeouts. Jessica Stickel took the hard luck loos allowing three runs while scattering four hits, four walks, and two strikeouts. Knoxville is now 7-20 on the season and P-C-M goes to 14-12.
