Action in the Little Hawkeye Conference continues tonight for the Pella Christian baseball team, as the Eagles take on Newton for the final time this season. Eagles’ Head Coach Brad Rolffs says it will take a concentrated effort from his team to beat the Cardinals, who he says are better than their record indicates.

“They’re a good team, and they’ve got some real good talent on their team, so it’s going to take a good effort to beat them. They’re no slouch,” said Rolffs.

“They’ve struggled a little bit in the conference, but if you look at their stats, they’ve got some kids that can really hit and they’ve got some decent pitchers; so we’re going to have to play really well tonight to beat Newton.”

The Eagles are 20-12 overall and 13-6 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Pella Christian’s JV/Varsity baseball doubleheader at Newton begins at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
