Pella took two from Knoxville last night in a varsity baseball doubleheader. The Little Dutch won the first game 10-9 as Knoxville committed five errors, but still had a chance to win in the bottom of the seventh. The game was highlighted by two towering home runs by Knoxville’s Lance Daugherty but it was not enough as Pella won.

In the second game, the Little Dutch got a two-hit gem from Schyler Kane and shut out the Panthers 8-0. Kane was masterful, going all seven innings, allowing just two hits, three walks and fanning 12 Knoxville batters.

Kellen Glover took the loss going three and two-thirds innings. Lance Daugherty pitched in relief. Offensively for Pella, Brett Kingery had two hits and scored twice.

Pella improves to 16-13 on the season and 12-8 in Little Hawkeye Conference play, while Knoxville is now 10-14 on the season and 7-11 in the conference.
