Knoxville Raceway safety crew member and Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jeff Koder is set to be released soon from Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines after being involved in an accident at the raceway last Saturday. Koder was in the infield around turns one and two when a car driven by AJ Moeller went into the wall. Moeller’s car flew apart, and the axle and front tire flew into the infield. Koder was hit by the tire first, and suffered a broken right femur, ligament damage in his left leg, and two broken hands. A video of the wreck that caused the accident can be found here [1].
