Much of the spring, school boards across the state struggled to assemble budgets not knowing how much money would be available from the state. That amount totalled the same allotment per student as last year, which administrators planned on when drafting this year’s budget. Property tax rates for public schools will also remain the same, according to Pella Schools Superintendent Greg Ebeling. He says that makes things a little tight this year, but next year districts can plan for a two-percent allowable growth, which should offer a little breathing room
