Wednesday Morning Fire Sends One Firefighter to Hospital With Heat Exhaustion

Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Rural Fire & Rescue, Knoxville Police Department, Indiana Township Fire Department, Pleasantville Fire Department, and Marion County Emergency Management responded to 605 W. Marion Street at around 9:15 this morning after a report of a fire at the residence. Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts says that the fire started in an upstairs bedroom, and spread into the attic. The family escaped uninjured, but one firefighter was checked out at the hospital with heat exhaustion and released. The Red Cross has responded to help the family.
