The Pella Christian football team is determined to not let one bad game sink their season. Though the Eagles turned the ball over seven times in a week one loss to Des Moines Christian, head coach Rich Kacmarynski says he and the rest of the coaching staff believe that the mistakes that were committed can be fixed in time for his team to turn things around and still put together a strong season.

“I definitely think we’ve got good players, [and] we’ve got a good plan. We had a lot of skill position players that were starting for the first time or hadn’t had very many reps,” said Kacmarynski. “I think they’re all things we can fix, and we’ve got good kids that work hard and believe in our system, so yeah, I think we can be a very fine football team before it’s all said and done.”

Pella Christian is working on correcting their week one miscues in preparation for Friday’s home opener against Van Meter. The Bulldogs will be hungry for their first win as well, though, as they’ll look to rebound from a 38-14 loss to Ogden.
