Central College baseball player Joel Pulliam has found a way to extend his 2011 baseball season, taking his skills to one of the most competitive summer leagues in the nation. Pitcher Joel Pulliam was picked to play for the Mankato Moondogs in the Northwoods League, a summer wood bat league for top collegiate players.

Pulliam, a two-time second team all-Iowa Conference pick as well as Central’s MVP, is spending the summer in Mankato, Minnesota, playing teams from the Northwoods League every day. Players from all over the country play for the Moondogs, the majority from NCAA Division I teams.

Pullliam helped the Dutch to a winning season as he set school records for season strikeouts (85), season shutouts (3) and career shutouts (4). He posted a 6-4 record with a 2.20 earned run average, walking 27.
