The Central College football team has been tabbed by the other coaches in the Iowa Conference to finish third in the league race this season.

Defending conference champion Wartburg College is a slight favorite to claim the league crown, just in front of fellow 2010 NCAA participant Coe College. Those programs claimed all of the first place votes, while Central had three second-place votes and five third-place votes.

The Dutch have captured a record 30 league titles and finished third last season, but return 37 letterwinners and 14 starters this season, including five all-conference picks.

Central’s first football game of the season will be this weekend at Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
