The Knoxville Cross Country squads have been working out for the past couple of weeks. Coach Mike Moats says the girls are small in numbers but have the potential to be better than they were last year.

He says there is a good balance of seniors to incoming freshmen. He ads Seniors Alyssa Van Klootwyk and Lydia Anderson are going to have to lead the team this season. Moats also sees good potential in some of the incoming freshmen that could make an impact.

The boys have also been working hard, and Moats thinks the team is as good in runners number one through ten from last year. He points to Junior Wic Cunningham, who has put in over 500 miles of work this summer. Moats says the five, six, and seven runners have also stepped up their work over the summer.

Knoxville placed runner-up at the state meet last fall.
