The Knoxville Cross Country Squads will hear the starter’s pistol for the first time this season as the Panthers travel to the Southeast Polk Invitational today to open the 2011 season. The boys are coming off a runner-up finish at the state meet. Coach Mike Moats says while losing three all-state runners from last season he says the times the guys are currently running are nearly identical to the times that the front three were running last season. The girls will join the guys at Southeast Polk, Moats says while small in numbers he says there is a lot of talent returning.
