The Knoxville Municipal Airport is being affected by a partial shutdown of the FAA. The airport was awarded a grant to turn their gravel parking lot into a concrete parking lot, as well creating a ramp going into their hanger. Danny Van Donselaar, owner of Knoxville Aviation, says they are waiting on signatures from FAA officials before they can start getting bids, but those employees are currently on furlough due to lack of funding. That furlough will continue until at least September, when Congress reconvenes.
