The Pella Christian volleyball team is preparing for the start of the upcoming season as one of the many teams taking part in a volleyball camp at Central College in Pella. The Lady Eagles will have a very different look this season, as several new players will step into the rotation to replace last year’s graduating seniors, and new head coach Cindy Nikkel says the camp is a great way for her staff to prepare for the season.

“It’s a great chance to get the team on the floor. We’re really keying in on a lot of movement and communication [right now],” said Nikkel. “We have three levels of players – freshmen, sophomores, and juniors – playing right now at the scrimmage camp, and we’re just getting an idea of who will fill the roles in different positions this year.”

Nikkel is a Pella Christian High School alum, and takes over for John Evenhouse, who retired after leading the Lady Eagles for 19 seasons. Volleyball practices officially begin on Monday.
