While he did not win the Knoxville Nationals, Sammy Swindell claimed the Jesse Hockett Mr. Sprint Car award for the second straight year. Swindell clinched the title by starting Saturday night’s Knoxville Nationals championship race and won the title by 30 points and the $2,500 that comes with it over second place Shane Stewart and third place Jason Johnson. Swindell won the Mr. Sprint Car title in part by winning his preliminary night at the Knoxville Nationals and last Monday’s Front Row Challenge in Oskaloosa.
