The fall sports season officially begins today at Central College, with the women’s and men’s soccer teams in competition. The Central women return 8 starters, 20 letterwinners, and one all-conference selection for the 2011 campaign under first-year coach Mike Kobylinski. Iowa Conference coaches have picked the Dutch to finish in seventh place in the league race.

On the men’s side, Central has been picked to again finish in fourth place in the Iowa Conference. Last season the Dutch finished just one game out of a three-way tie for the league crown. This year the Central men bring back 20 letter winners and 8 starters as well, including 4 all-conference honorees.

The Central College women’s soccer team opens the schedule with a 3:00 p.m. game against Grand View University at the A.N. Kuyper Athletic Complex, with the men’s home and season-opener following, as they host Elmhurst College at 5:00 p.m.
