Defense ignited an offensive spark for the Central College volleyball team in a 3-1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 26-24) Iowa Conference victory over Luther College Wednesday.

Luther held the Dutch to a -.11 hitting percentage in the opening set, but Central found its offensive footing and hit over .250 the rest of the match. Three players recorded double-digit kills. On the defensive side, Pella High graduate and Central Libero Chelsea Grieger turned in a noteworthy performance, as she tallied a match-best 27 digs.

Central is now 8-2, and 2-0 in the conference, and has the weekend off before returning to league action Tuesday against the University of Dubuque at 7:30 p.m. in Dubuque.
