The deadline to file for local elections is 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon. As of Wednesday afternoon, five people had filed for City of Pella offices. Running for City Council are Gary Van Vark and Harold Van Stryland in Ward Two and Larry J. Peterson in Ward Four. Running for the At-Large seat is David Vander Horst and Jim Mueller is running for Mayor. Elections are Tuesday November 8th.

In Knoxville, three city council seats will be up for election this fall, as well as the position of mayor. As of press time, Mayor Don Zoutte is the only person who has filed paperwork for the mayoral election. In the city council election, incumbents Carolyn Formanek and April Verwers have filed for election, as have Tim Pitt and JR Wales. Incumbent Bob Wims has also declared his intentions to run again, though as of press time, his paperwork was not yet finalized.
