Governor Terry Branstad will be in Knoxville on October 1. That’s what a Habitat for Humanity official told the Knoxville City Council at last night’s city council meeting. Governor Branstad will be in town to help celebrate the 1000th Habitat for Humanity home built in Iowa. One of the two houses being built on the corner of Harlan and Marion will be designated as house number 1000. The Council also approved a letter of support for James Washington’s development of the VA, and they approved extending the current tax abatement program until October 2016.
