Knoxville Hopes Last Week’s Improved Play Leads To First Win This Week

Looking to build on a good effort from last week, the Knoxville Football Squad will travel to Newton tonight for a Class 3A District Eight game. The Panthers played better in a 28-20 loss to Carlisle last week, and Coach Troy Rider says this week, practice has gone well. He says the Cardinals like the run the ball, so his defense will have to play well to force Newton out of its game. Rider while it is a glimmer, there is hope for the playoffs and he does not want his seniors to lose hope in that. Knoxville also knows Newton will be a little testy tonight after losing for the first time to previously winless Perry last week. You can hear the play-by-play on AM 1320 KNIA tonight at seven, Derek Cardwell will have the play-by-play.
