The Knoxville City Council voted recently to use a billing service for their Emergency Management Services rather than continue to do the billing themselves. EMS Billing Services, Inc., a company from Omaha, Nebraska, was selected to handle those services for the city. Knoxville City Manager Harald Stewart says that change will help them collect money quicker and more efficiently than previously. The City had been trying to handle the billing themselves, but were falling behind because of a lack of manpower. Stewart says EMS Billing will help them catch up on those bills right away.
