Hoping to carry some momentum forward from their first two wins of the season, the Pella volleyball team starts Little Hawkeye Conference play at home tonight.

Lady Dutch head coach Bob Fessler says his team wants to get off to a good start in the league race, and acknowledges that at this point his team has to be more focused on themselves than their opposition.

“I think our kids very much feel that they want to compete strongly in the conference – I know they do – and we talk about it,” says Fessler. “With Newton coming in, it’s a little bit different for us; this year we’re very worried about ourselves and just trying to progress there.”

The Pella volleyball team is 2-10 overall this season. Tonight’s JV and Varsity matches will be held in the West gym at Pella High, while the freshman game will be held at Pella Middle School.
